Our consulting relationships often grow out of pre-existing relationships. What begins as a simple training program tends to evolve into a larger scale engagement. Having trained the field sales force, we are enlisted to deliver additional training for the sales desk, then for the marketing department and the appropriate managers of each area. Next, a summit is usually in order to discuss the collaborative creation and development of “Fusion” stories.
Creating a shared story for an entire organization requires an unfamiliar level of coordination and cooperation — something not taught in college or grad school. The Story Development Process and its accompanying technology is the proprietary creation of the Fusion Group over a period of thirty plus years. It’s a process of building stories which are aligned across all communication platforms, with all constituents drawing on a shared set of core modules.
We are often asked to chair a retreat with key players to examine the entire communication machinery. It’s a high-level discussion of organizational intentions, reporting structures, and tools and techniques to maximize effectiveness going forward. What began as a training assignment becomes a more complex, multi-layered, longer term relationship.
Fusion programs can be undertaken independently with great success. Or, as the significance of our methods begins to reveal itself, the scope of our work can be expanded beyond delivering programs to serving as Architects of Culture.
