Composition Wrap-Up, Bridge to Signature

The “Back to Basics” Series

“Going back to the basics strengthens your foundation.”
—Anonymous

“A human being is a composite of Body, Mind and Spirit. So is a presentation.”
— Jennifer StJohn

In this Back to Basics series, our focus is on Body, Mind and Spirit as the underlying principles of communication — with practical applications.

During the last nine weeks, we covered the Mind (Process) — Composition… How you compose your thoughts into a memorable and repeatable message — that gets results!

Your well composed message however, can fall short of the intended impact, if not “Packaged” appropriately.

Hence, our next part of this series looks at the Body (Package) – specifically, Signature and Visual Aids.

The thing about Signature is that it’s personal. It’s unique to you. It’s how you convey your unique personality within the confines of a well-structured presentation.

It can be enhanced, improved, accentuated with your gestures, eye contact, movement, vocal modulation, and even… your pauses. And, that’s not all.  When you combine effective visual aids, your audience is better able to recall — and repeat — your message.

We’ll formally begin the Signature segment of this series next week. In the meantime, to review (or catch up on articles you might have missed), here are the titles with links to the Composition Cornerstones we previously posted:
